Researchers conducted this investigation to analyse the impact of sound amplification through cochlear implants (CIs) on aggressive behaviours among Persian children. A total of 72 children who underwent unilateral implantation and 72 age-matched normally hearing children (control group) participated during this prospective study design. At the time of implantation, all CI children were aged < 4 years. Compared with their normally hearing peers, the investigators noted that young children with a noticeable degree of hearing loss may experience a higher level of aggression. However, if they undergo early implantation and participate in regular postoperative rehabilitation programs, their aggression status may improve significantly.
